Gnome Wood Slot Review, RTP & Free Play

Gnome Wood Slot Review

Gnome Wood is your generic, fantasy-themed slot machine game, albeit one which has been developed using stunning 3D graphics from Rabcat. The casino software developers have a knack for original gameplay and superb HD quality graphics (take a look at Castle Builder, for instance) so we shouldn’t really be surprised with what they have pulled out of the bag here.

Look & Feel:

A collection of rune-like icons make up the lower paying symbols in the game, with the more thematic and magical elements (such as bizarre creatures, books and the like) dishing out the bigger prizes to players. Tucked away nice and nearly at the bottom of the reels are a selection of rocks, and it is this which can be used by players to alter their stakes.

All 25 lines in this 5-reel slot are fixed into place, but players are at liberty to alter their total stakes with the directional arrows on the second rock to the left. This can see your stake rise from a base minimum of 25p per spin up to a capped maximum bet of £50 a game, which isn’t too shabby.

Two wilds have been worked into the design of this slot by Rabcat. The first is a standard wild (with a rune on its blue backdrop) and the symbol can substitute for all other icons in the game save for the slot’s scatter. The second wild is purple in colour and as its 2x sign hints at, it can double the value of all winning combos in which it plays a part.

Bonus Features:

Walking Wild Re-Spins: Wild symbols can trigger a Walking Wilds re-spin bonus when they appear. Admittedly, they only show up on the second to fifth reels, but when they do appear, they will offer re-spins and gradually walk their way from the rightmost reel on which they appear, to the first reel before disappearing. Re-spins end once no new wilds appear on the screen.

Free Spin Bonus: Free spin symbols appear as golden coins. These symbols will offer a total of 10 free spins when they show up on the reels 3 or more times on a single spin. In the feature, walking wilds can now appear on the first reel, too, although that doesn’t really do much since they will instantly disappear from view.

Gnome Wood RTP:

Gnome Wood offers a more than respectable RTP rate of 96.16%, but this is about standard for most slots from this developer. The top prize is, however, rather petite, on account of the walking wilds feature. Expect to win no more than 40x your total bet in this game.

Verdict:

Despite being a small casino software provider, Rabcat’s games can be found all over the net, because their slots are a part of Microgaming’s Quickfire platform. It is just as well because countless casino players are going to want to try their hand at this likeable and user-friendly fantasy-themed slot.
