Texas Hold’Em Poker Game

Texas Hold’Em is a globally popular version of poker, played in casino everywhere. It is possibly one of the oldest casino card games and it has been made into an excellent online casino game for you to enjoy at the comfort of your own home. Texas Hold’Em is compatible for both web and mobile casinos.

How To Play Texas Hold’Em

The rules are fairly simple to understand and follow, however, getting used to the game and being the ultimate Master of Texas Hold’Em may take a little bit of practice. In the beginning, each player is dealt 2 cards that are faced down. Players might see these referred to as ‘hole cards’.  After all cards are dealt and players check their cards, they then decide whether they want to ‘Check’, ‘Bet’ or ‘Fold’.

After deciding what initial move to make having looked at your 2 cards, 3 more cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. After the dealer has laid these cards down, players then go around again and decide what move they want to make. Then 1 more card is placed in the middle of the table, so there are now 4 cards there. There is another round of betting and then the 5th and last card is shared. Then for 1 final time, players place their bets.

To have the best Texas Hold’em hand, you need to include your 2 cards and the ones in the middle of the table in your hand, if possible. The aim is to make the best possible 5 card poker hand. A lot of players, especially inexperienced ones, won’t be aware of the ranking of Texas Hold’Em hands, they are as follows from highest to lowest:

Royal Flush: A royal flush is a straight flush with a high ace. An example could be: 10, J, Q, K, A

Straight Flush: A straight flush is a 5-card straight with all cards having the same suit. Another example could be: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of clubs.

Four of a Kind: Four of a kind is where 4 of the cards in your Hold’em hand are of equal value. This could be: A, A, A, A, 8 for example.

Full House: A full house contains 3 cards of one value and a pair. For example: K, K, K, 10, 10.

Flush: A flush is 5 cards of any value, all with the same suit. For example: 4, A, 10, 6, 8 of Hearts.

Straight: A straight is 5 cards that have sequential value. Every straight will include either a 5 or a 10. An example would be 7, 8, 9, 10, J.

Three of a Kind: This is where 3 cards in your hand hold the same value. For example: A, 2, 4, 4, 4.

Two Pairs: Two Pairs is when 2 sets of cards hold the same value, an example being: 3, A, A, 9, 9.

Pair: A pair is when 2 of the cards in your hand hold the same value, for example: 10, 8, 4, 6, 6.

High Card: High Card is the lowest in the rankings, this is when the hand with the highest card wins.

Texas Hold’Em Blinds

There are 2 types of Blinds in Texas Hold’Em, a small blind and a big blind. The small blind is put out by the player on the left of the dealer. The big blind is then placed by the player to the left of the small blind player. The blind sizes will determine the stakes you will put in for that game. Players should think carefully about the hands they have in comparison to the chips other players have. If you have a good hand and want players to bet in lots of chips, then allow the game to run smoothly and don’t bet too much too soon.

Texas Hold’Em Betting Rules

After receiving their hole cards, players then make a justified decision of what they want to do with that hand. There are 3 options for them. Each player takes it in turns to decide. Their options are simple:

Fold: Pay no money to the pot and give their cards away back to the dealer to be thrown. This then means having to wait for this round to finish until you can play again.

Call: This is where you match the amount of the big blind.

Raise: Doubling the amount of the big blind will allow you to raise the stake. A player can sometimes raise more depending on the betting style.
